Dead Horse Beats is the stage name of Canadian musician, composer and singer Patrick Wade.
Described as “a groovy treasure packed with the excitement and emotion of a danceclub makeout session” by Noisey; Wade’s releases with labels in Montreal, New York and London span moods and styles from eccentric trip-hop to pensive R&B and rattling disco tinged dance numbers.
As a performer and DJ, Wade has entertained tens of thousands at festivals including MUTEK, Canadian Music Week, Igloofest, and Halifax Pop Explosion and shared the stage with the the likes of Breakbot, FKJ, Tokimonsta, RJD2, and many more.
As well as a producer and songwriter, Wade’s resume as a composer for film and video includes award winning projects with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Ubisoft, Landr and Destination Canada, as sound and music for films screened at Cannes, the National Geographic Film Festival and many other festivals.
Wade’s next album Inglaterra is scheduled for release digitally and on vinyl May 24th 2019 with Bastard Jazz Recordings.
